GROUND CONVEYORS

To convey parts at ground level, for the feeding of manufacturing processes, for industrial and automotive or packaging for mass production goods, Siecab offers a complete range of conveyors, which are the outcome of multiple years development, allowing a very high technical and quality standardization level.
They may be supplied as a "turn key” system, completed of all electrical and pneumatic systems or any other tailored solutions, according to specific customer needs.

All Siecab standard conveyors are composed of:

  • Side rails of extruded aluminum profile with own matrix
  • Motor system and returning head with integrated chain screw stretcher
  • Upper and lower chain guides made of plastic
  • Electro-welded or aluminum legs with adjustable fixing plates for variable ground clearance
  • Drip trays with discharge sleeve (if needed)
  • Painting or special coating upon customer specifications


Flying Roller Conveyors  (size ½” and ¾”)

They are used to convey and accumulate pallets, carrying parts with or without finished surfaces, even heavy weight.
The functioning principle is based on the horizontal translation of the pallets by two strands of commercial triple chain (size ½ " or ¾"), driven by a motion system.
The conveyor system is composed of standard components made by Siecab, but it may be customized and integrated with complementary automated modules, according to customers’ needs.

The standard conveyor system is equipped with:

  • Conveyor body properly sized upon available room and area configuration
  • Motion system composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket
  • Two strands of standard triple chain (size ½” or ¾”) with central over‐sized and frictioned rollers
  • Returning head complete with chain screw stretcher
  • Pallets properly equipped based on the parts to be carried
  • Pallet guides made of steel C40
  • Pneumatic stopper/escapement units for the stop/release (on demand)
  • Standard speed rate: up to 12 m/min
  • Maximum length of the conveyor with single motor: 15 meters
  • Maximum load on the work area on top of the chains: 40 KN


Frictioned Roller Conveyors

They are used to convey and accumulate parts with or without finished surfaces, even heavy weight.
The functioning principle is based on the horizontal translation of the parts thanks to the friction between the roller surface and the part surface.
Rollers axis are driven by a motion system and the hardened and grinded surface of the roller is directly in contact with the elements avoiding the pallet utilization.
Avoiding the pallet interface between elements and conveyor.
The functioning principle is based on the transmission of the movement to the rollers through a motion system on one side, composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket and chain. In alternative, the motion system may be composed by motor-shaft-key and "Bevel gear pinion”.
The conveyor system is composed of standard components made by Siecab, but it may be customized according to customers’ needs.

The standard fractioned/fixed roller conveyors are equipped with:

  • Frictioned rollers with finished surface (hardened and grinded), in order to avoid damages to finished surface of carried elements
  • Rollers’ shafts may be fixed or frictioned, one piece or fractioned and variable diameters of shaft/roller
  • Roller distance may be variable and adaptable to any need and integrated with pneumatic stopper/escapement units for the stop/release of single pallets
  • Steel guides made of C40 in order to guide the parts
  • Complete Motion system is included with tailored motor on demand
  • Normal speed rate: up to 15 m/min


Step by Step Conveyors

They are used for conveying of pallets, carrying components with finished and grinded surface, even heavy weight, preventing damages to elements’ surfaces and contacts between elements, within industrial manufacturing environment (i.e. automotive, for the manufacturing of cylinder heads, engine blocks, gear boxes, brake discs, gears….)
The functioning principle is based on the transmission of the movement through two commercial chain loops, driven by a motion system composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket; where the aluminum pallets are secured to the chain.
The step by step motion and the positioning are determined by photoelectric cells.

The step by step conveyors are equipped with:

 

  • Aluminum pallets secured to the chain, completed with bearing and centering supports on the top. The configuration of bearing and centering units assures a correct manual positioning of the work piece.
  • 1” chain, equipped with coupling fins for the pallet connection
  • Motion system composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket
  • Idle head complete with chain screw stretcher
  • Safety cover of the motion transmission unit, complete with moving flap controlled by safety switch
  • Normal speed rate: 3 m/min


Pallet Recirculation Conveyors (size 3/8” -  ½” -  ¾”)

They are used for conveying of pallets, carrying components with finished and grinded surface, even heavy weight, preventing damages to elements’ surfaces and contacts between elements, within industrial manufacturing environment (i.e. automotive, for the manufacturing of cylinder heads, engine blocks, gear boxes, brake discs, gears….).
The functioning principle is based on the transmission of the movement through two commercial chain loops (sizes ½ "and ¾"), driven by a motion system composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket; where the driving and return heads (integrated into the conveyor) allow the pallet recirculation along the chain.
Pallet recirculation conveyors avoid the utilization of additional lifter/descender modules, reducing space utilization.

Pallet recirculation conveyors are equipped with:

  • Aluminum pallets completed of steel guides and stop inserts under the plate, supporting blocks and centering pins on the top
  • Steel pallet guides in the center of the conveyor
  • Quadruple-strand chain with frictioned rollers
  • Motion system composed of motor-shaft-key-sprocket
  • Idle head complete with chain screw stretcher.
  • Pneumatic stopper/escapement units for the stop/release of single pallets
  • Safety cover of the motion transmission unit, complete with moving flap controlled by safety switch
  • Normal speed rate: 8 m/min


Gravity Roller Conveyors (spiral conveyor and feeding gravity system SAG)

They are used for conveying elements, cassettes or chests to a fixed stop.
The functioning principle is the gravity, therefore the elements are carried to the desired location sliding on free rollers:

They are equipped with:

  • Aluminum frame
  • Trunking rolls
  • Side guides
  • Customized solutions for controlled feeding of components


Accessories for Ground Conveyors

To convey parts and components at ground level, Siecab offers a complete range of accessories and modules to integrate the offer of ground conveyors. They are the outcome of multiple years development, allowing a very high technical and quality standardization level:

Lifter/descender with electromechanical actuation system

They are used to integrate conveyors working in two levels like flying rollers or frictioned rollers’ conveyors, allowing the pallet recirculation between two levels.
The lifting principle is based on electromechanical actuator composed of "connecting rod -crank”, allowing lifting range up to 400 mm maximum.

Electromechanical Lifters are composed of:
  • Supporting column with sliding guides and adjustable ground clearance.
  • Electromechanical motion system with "connecting rod -crank”.
  • Lifting table with guide shoes.
  • The part of motorized chain flying roller conveyor or in alternative roller conveyor complete of stop devices and fall pallet or elements protections .


Electromechanical control lift /descender single column

This system is used for pallets or parts handling from one to another floor and with long strokes (1000mm to 3500mm).
The lifting is carrying out by means of brushless motors with electromechanical control chain drive.
Supplied electromechanical control single lift column complete of: base welded tubular column adjustable in height by means of leveling screws, electromechanical drive lifting motor is by means of brushless motor, the mobile plate slides on hardened steel guides boned to column, moved by chain and balanced with a counterweight, safety brake unit inertial masses parachute type.
Mobile cradle in welded tubular jointed to the mobile plate on which the part of roller conveyor is installed or in alternative the part of chain conveyor flying roller. The parts of conveyor are complete of stop devices and fall pallet or elements protections.


Rotating table with electromechanical control

This system is used for the automatic rotation of pallets or elements in 0 ° -90 ° or in alternative in 0 ° -180 °.
The rotating of the table is electromechanical and it is carrying out by means of globe cam intermittent.
The supplied electromechanical control rotating tables are complete of: support frame in welded tubular, globe cam intermittent complete of ratio motor, part of the chain conveyor flying roller or as an alternative friction rollers complete of stop devices and fall pallet or elements protections.


Electromechanical control translation table

This system is used for integration of flying roller conveyors for the change of direction in 90 ° of the pallet.
The functioning of translation table is electromechanical and provides the lifting races with relatively short stroke (from 3 up to 30mm) of the conveyor part installed on the mobile unit to allow the translation of the pallet from the main line and following change of direction.
The supplied translation table with electromechanical is complete with: Fixed frame in welded tubular, lifting system with electromechanical control rod drive crank, mobile part is composed of flying roller chain conveyor or as an alternative friction rollers complete of stop devices and fall safety pallet protection.


Other accessory units

Centering pallet/ part unit: This system is used for the reference / centering of the pallet or the element. It can be with pneumatic or electro-mechanic control.
Turnover unit: This system is used to turn over the part in 180 °. Electromechanical control drive system.
